Legal obligations related to the FEC in Morocco
In Morocco, as part of a tax audit, any company using computerized accounting must, upon request of the tax authority, provide a dematerialized copy of its accounting entries. This obligation stems from the General Tax Code (CGI), notably Article 210, which sets the rules for presenting accounting records during audits.

Remote accounting audit
The tax administration may carry out a remote examination using the data contained in the FEC. Failure to transmit the file within the allotted time may lead to similar penalties.
Since the introduction of remote accounting examinations (CGI Article 212 bis, introduced by the 2018 Finance Law), the administration may now conduct audits remotely based on the submitted FEC. The response time is 30 days from notification. Failure to transmit triggers the aforementioned fines.
